Advice on install: network card not detected

My university upgraded my work computer, which was happily running BL Jessie since the summer (it ran #!, then BL hydrogen prior to Jessie).  My new Dell 7050 has an Intel I219-LM network card.  From my understanding, e1000e firmware should work with it.  However, the BL live installer does not recognize it.  When I select the firmware, it won't proceed with the installation.  Also, if I boot into the live distro, then I do not have an internet connection.  Can you offer some tips to help me successfully install BL with network support?

I can download the intel drivers for linux and probably specify the driver.  If I do this, then do I copy the files to the live USB?  Where would I put the files?  Would it be better to perform a netinstall of Debian base using Stretch (I think the kernel has the appropriate driver), then add the BL repositories per the How-To's?  Thanks for any advice you can offer...

At this stage it might be best to try the alpha version of our next release:

Check the live session and see how that supports your new hardware.

The drivers are already present in the upstream kernel (along with the firmware) so all you would need to do is take advantage of the jessie-backports repositories[1] but we're so close to the Helium release that I don't think it's worth the bother.

Re: Advice on install: network card not detected

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'll try this on Monday and see if it works.

This worked well.  Network card and the radeon graphics chip were detected properly.  I just have to get used to the feel of the new version.  Thanks for the help... [/edit]
