upgrade hydrogen [solved]

Hi to all, I have Bunsenlabs "hydrogen" 8.9 on my laptop running flawlessly and I'm very happy with it (thanks to the devs for this beautiful distro). I would upgrade it to the last version. Before posting I've searched the forum for an official or exhaustive thread on how-to-upgrade-bs (easily, step-by-step), ad I didn't find it.
How I can do it easily and safely?

My sources.list file contains this:

#

## DEBIAN
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-fre

## SECURITY
deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
# deb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

## UPDATES
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
# deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free

## BACKPORTS
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org//debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free
# deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free

And this is my inxi output:

inxi -Fxz

Re: upgrade hydrogen [solved]

Wait until Helium officially goes out, I broke the system with a problem of lightdm and startx did not start. The screen did not turn off as in debian is a problem of debian that I do not know what they have done, have if they polish here.

As it happens, you are actually running BunsenLabs Deuterium and that already is the latest release smile

Double-check with:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

We will have a new "Helium" release out very soon, this will be based on Debian 9 (stretch).

OK, I will wait "Helium". I hope there will be an "official"/sticky thread to help with thre transition.

thanks!

Thanks! Yesterday I was tempted to upgrade following the Debian path (I have successfully upgraded Debian from 8 to 9 in another PC). Better to wait.

There is unlikely to be an "offical" upgrade path but we will do our best to help users who try.

Re: upgrade hydrogen [solved]

If possible, it would be very good to not have to install.

Re: upgrade hydrogen [solved]

^ Yes, I understand that but please understand that all of the developement work has been carried out in a "fresh" environment so unless the community wants to wait another $DEITY-knows how many months for us to test transitions from Hydrogen/Deuterium as well then we will have to leave it as an "unofficial" option.

As I said, we will support all users who decide to attempt a dist-upgrade as best we can.
