[SOLVED] How should I keep my GPG pass phrase during a session?

Hi all

I generated and manage my GPG keys on the command line. I have enabled Enigmail to read them. As of now, although I have set "Remember pass phrase for" to 5 min, I have to type my pass phrase every time it is needed. I remember seeing a message saying that gpg-agent could not be found.

What is the proper way of running this (or any other) agent?

If gpg-agent is not installed, install the package of the same name.

I prefer gpg-agent.

I have installed gpg-agent but don't know how to activate it!

The agent is automatically started on demand by gpg, gpgsm, gpgconf, or gpg-connect-agent. Thus there is no reason to start it manually.

Use gpg2 (gnupg2) for best results. Under systemd, gpg-agent also supports socket activation. Under gpg (version 1), try adding use-agent to ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf, or use the --use-agent command line option.

Thanks everybody. The problem is solved.

Installing gpg-agent was enough. I had a bit of a problem though. I think it was gpg-agent. An invalid key was remembered by gpg-agent although I have removed it from the key ring!

Anyway, working perfectly. Only thing, I didn't find the place to mark the thread as SOLVED.
