I was thinking we could have a few suggestions of where to look for ways to further customize the install, eg some forum links, instead of the generic BL website front page.
At least the "getting started" section https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=21
if not some more specific threads.
If anyone felt like writing something a bit more helpful than what we have now, I'd be happy to put it in.

...elevator in the Brain Hotel, broken down but just as well...

No input?
OK as it is?

I would like to see URL to forum because it sends a message that we have a live community where even new users can talk directly to you (the devs).
Regarding URL you suggested, maybe put this one https://forums.bunsenlabs.org instead of generic http://bunsenlabs.org (user have already downloaded distro, which is one of the main purposes of the website?) with a comment advising users to vising "Getting Started" section? Opening only that section feels a bit claustophobic to me (but maybe I am overly sensitive to such things).
I'd also add URLs to a couple of the most popular threads (show us your conky, weather scripts and such) or just mention that they exist. I don't know what other folks would prefer. I'd also mention that we have screenshot threads rotating monthly.
That way you would send a strong message to a new user that (s)he is not alone in this journey.
Señor Chang, why do you teach Spanish?

I am sorry. This somehow slipped my attention. I think Sun For Miles sums it up nicely though.

I agree with that, idea of adding these URLs is very good, especially for beginners

These sound like good suggestions.
OK, so https://forums.bunsenlabs.org at the top, followed by
*) the "getting started" section: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=21
*) the most popular conky thread: which one?
any others that new users might find helpful?
...oh yes, a reminder to look at the "help" section of the menu too, right?

I gave it another thought, insted of specific topics maybe just put "scripts, tutorials and tips" section: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=9
Maybe in this order:
-getting started
-help and support
-scripts and tips
Señor Chang, why do you teach Spanish?

I like Sun For Miles' suggestion of making the forum the focus instead of the website and I like the sections he's suggestion. Any more granularity seems unnecessary. As for the welcoming text, perhaps a few slight adjustments:

Well said!
So, how about this revised text?

There are many ways you can tweak this system to suit your needs.
You might find these forum sections interesting:
"Getting Started": https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=21
"Help & Support": https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=2
"Scripts, Tutorials & Tips": https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=9
And the BunsenLabs menu has a "Help" section too...

Any improvements?
