Print-settings crashes and cups forbids epson xp-245

Hi!

Absolutely wonderful system!

Smoothest and fastest I have seen on my old workstation!

I am trying to get an epson xp-245 printer to work but print-settings crashes and cups-web gives a forbidden. Can not find anything about this printer here in the forum. Should it work?

Re: Print-settings crashes and cups forbids epson xp-245

Retry localhost:631 for cups-web, and remember to have the root account enabled and a password set; these are the credentials cups is requesting.

But before, install the correct driver. It looks like this is a printer-scanner combination. You need to treat the scanner and printer as separate devices.

For the scanner, use libsane via xsane or the GIMP plugin, it should work practically out of the box.

For the printer, try the escpr Linux driver by Epson, it is available directly on their website.
