Claws Mail does not print properly

Hello

This is a very old problem. I have never ever managed to create a proper print of an email received/sent with claws mail. It seems to be impossible to get claws print an email properly on a A4 paper without mangling, cutting off the first characters of each line of text.

I played around with almost all settings already both in claws, in my bl printer settings etc. Various searches on the internet revealed no usable result for me. Even upgrading to the latest backports version of claws did not solve the problem.

Before another year passes by without being able to print an email i hope somebody here may help me out. Thx. in advance and a merry christmas.

I'm using Sylpheed, but as I understand, these are similar programs.

And Sylpheed suffers from the very same problem ... terrible, awful print-mail support. I always end up printing it to PDF, and then inserting this PDF to Libreoffice or to Inkscape.

Somehow it is not on developer's priority list (somewhat understandable) ... I mean, email is electronic messaging system, designed to replace paper-oriented approach.

For example, the last version of the Sylpheed, half a year old, has implemented "Printing settings and page setup are now saved."  And, again, there are no margins, text starts from the paper edge ...

(Of course, I don't want to bash developer, he made an excellent application, and certainly doesn't have enough time to implement kind of unnecessary features ...)

It's great to hear that i am not alone ...

Read about your workaround by printing to pdf ...

This is not working as well ... printing an email to the pdf printer creates just the same messy print like any other real printer on my network. What are you exactly doing?

BTW: I really do not believe that printing an email is a not important feature. There are millions of good reasons to print an email of course. But we just can't complain - we have to live with that unfortunately.

Version 3.15 in siduction-fluxbox and
Version 3.16 in mageia7-plasma5

The only problem is the "Print Preview", which does not offer a "Print" button.
So I immediately choose "print" and the result is ok for me.
