Trivial but still a suggestion by da resident babbler.

This is mostly stupid, admit it outright from the beginning yet am still going to say/type it anyway.

Why not put the default tint2 panel on the bottom of the screen. I mean OSX users or whatever may be used to such being on top, window$ users are almost certainly not. Know it's likely easily changed in some gooey menu tint2 thingy in Bunsenlabs, did notice there was a tint2_bottom or whatever file in ~/.config/tint2 too.

Though again ... if the target audience is window$ users fleeing the software horror that is M$, perhaps not alienate them from the beginning in such a way. It's a matter of a few clicks for people with any gnu/Nix know-how. I just searched for the word top in the currently running tint2 config, changed it to bottom and restarted tint2, wham my panel bar where I prefer it.

One of the things I dislike about Ubuntu and they're still doing it in v 16.04, same deal panel's all manner of odd places and icing on buntu-cake they decided to mix up the order of the windows controls, so that close, min/maximize etc are all alien and odd in the default DE they use. Disliked ubuntu's layout literally 3secs after laying eyes upon it, still do to this day. Would install LM main, would never use ubuntu main. Though if forced to of course would immediately get rid of their desktop and install what I like in place.

Again ... absolutely ZERO criticism intended here. The BL team has done a KICKBUTT job and think BL's top-notch gnu/Nix. Just a random babble thought, yeah it's stupid, yeah it's trivial but for people new to gnu/Linux. They could already come into it with reservations, apprehension of this techno-gobbledegook and all the uber-geekiness which may be required of them etc. Ah nevermind forget it but did type this stupe babble out, so hitting post button.

VlBL! :)

I think the general reasoning was to make it not look like Windows  smile

Anyway, there is a tint2rc with that configuration already supplied with BunsenLabs.

ive been giving the vertical on left hand side panel a try with tint2 and really like it. Funny how you get used to a certain layout, when i think of the time my eyes go to top right instead of bottom left wink

Its a matter of preference i suppose, easy enough to change position of the panel given a little research or even searching this forum.

^Yeah, Menu/Preferences/Tint 2/Edit Tint2s/Tint2 Config GUI/ <- right click/Edit Theme/Position.

Although there is no virgin linux/ex-windows user who would be able to find this configuration option ever, but if someone prefers a bottom panel, I guess we can tell him/her about the configuration here.

I set it up that way, too -- with tint2 in Openbox as well as with xfce4-panel, and also with the KDE panel.
