Video not displaying - Dell Inspiron 1501

Hi!

This is my first question here.

After installing the bl-Deuterium-amd64_20170429.iso with a USB drive onto my Dell Inspiron 1501, first boot after install and all I get are vertical colored lines. I can't get to open a TTY1 session, as the ctrl-alt-F1 doesn't work at all, so I can't start installing the nVidia drivers. I somehow ended up booting to a cli and tried to apt-get install the drivers but even wired network eth0 doesn't work.

How can I make it all work?

Thanks for reading!
