Pass a custom command to pPub epub viewer? SOLVED

Hi all,

I have successfully installed pPub epub book reader:

https://github.com/sakisds/pPub

...and it runs fine from my launcher or terminal. I can open a book directly from terminal or from within the GUI.

However, I'm trying to add a custom command to OPEN WITH right-click file context menu, and it doesn't seem to be accepting the pass-through command, so all I get is a blank pPub reader, when I'd like it to open the file I've passed the command to.

I've tried:

ppub %f
ppub %F
ppub %n
ppub %N

...none of the above work. I've also tried all of the above in single (') and double (") quotes, but alas to no avail.

Furthermore, none of these commands appear to 'stick' in the custom command dialogue; it simply reverts to 'ppub' without any other commands associated with it.

Could someone advise on this?

Thanks.

afaik it should work if your path and filename are withoutSpacesInNames.

It appears it would be possible to do some sort of intercept-or script thought (unless I'am wrong). < This has to do with thunar custom actions.

Turns out Ppub was a bit inconsistent - some epub files work, whilst others don't. No idea why.

So, I've ditched Ppub in favour of the more cumbersome, but fully functional Calibre.

I'm just letting people know I've ditched Ppub, but perhaps people want to explore this further out of curiosity alone...

I just drop everything to pdf, so I don't have to deal with calibre (gui) or similar, search for epub2pdf on this forums.

Yes, I can understand why. Calibre is a slow old dog.
