Ah. Thank you!
I'll download it in a bit (no pun intended..)

Just to let you know Steve, BL is still a contender. It's pretty much the only thing I have been able to load so far (to look at live system) besides debian 9.
Plus it reminds me of crunchbang and I used that for quite a few years on an even lower spec netbook! single core, 1gb ram.. no idea of speed..

Steve, if I may ask a stupid question. What does "no X" mean? does that mean I have to install a desktop from the command line?
"antiX-core-libre (c200MB) - no X. Just enough to get you connected (wired) and ready to build. Uses a libre kernel.
New net version. "

Core no X, means none of this -->> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Window_System
You can build a great little minimal 32 bit system off that iso ........maybe.
With openbox.
But why bother when bunsenlabs is the distro you really need.... imo.

Steve
Bunsenlabs is not my husband. I am allowed to shop around!

Most of us here don't care what OS the users on the forums use. That's why we have:
Help & Support (Other)
If you have a Debian testing/unstable or other non-BunsenLabs support question, feel free to ask it here. We're a friendly bunch and welcome questions from users of all operating systems.
Personalities, hardware limitations (or lack of), WORK, level of competence all come into play when choosing an OS.
And besides, the way you got your point across was priceless.

Welcome back. I think for your system settings would be recommended those lightweight distros BunsenLabs, antix, MX-16, LinuxBBQ or ArchLabs.
Hope you enjoy using your installed distro.
Regards!
Neither LinuxBBQ or ArchLabs would be a good fit for Marianne. Those distros are for a different user audience.

Which audience would that be?

Head-on-a-Stick (here), machinebacon (from #! and one of the creators of LinuxBBQ), etc.
I don't know the recommended specs, but have you tried elementary?

Head-on-a-Stick
I absolutely love both of the mentioned distributions, they are awesome, but I run Arch [testing] and OpenBSD-current.
