This is probably not specific to Helium, because I have noticed it before. However, it can be made nicer by adding this to 'rc.xml', in the '<applications>' section:
This works nicely on a 1920x1080 desktop...
<application name="obconf">
<size>
<width>33%</width>
</size>
</application>

Does this work OK with small screens too?

I haven't got a small screen to test on But the obconf default window looked ridiculous on my screen, and started after an upgrade sometime in the past (jessie?).
I put this here in for information, rather than as a development need.

I've only tested on a VM so far, where filling the small window looked OK. If it looks bad on a laptop, then perhaps we should add that 33% to rc.xml.
Default obconf looks fine on my Jessie machine though, taking about 40% of 1440 width.

This is how it opens normally, on a 1920x1080 desktop:
EDIT: I guess it started with v2.03? The changelog has "Major layout changes".

Ugh! Yes too wide, no question. Is that Jessie or Stretch?
obconf on Jessie is almost the same version as Stretch, 1:2.0.4-2 but:

The scrot is Helium-dev (Stretch), but at some point it happened on Jessie, which is why I think it may have started with an obconf version bump.

Same with all OB themes.
The easiest solution is probably to point people to this thread, if they need a fix, instead of providing it in rc.xml (otherwise it causes issues with other resolutions, twin screens etc)
Preumably the geometry is compiled in to obconf, because there is no commandline option for it.

Maybe we should have an index thread "Annoyances & Fixes" in "Getting Started" (or elsewhere?) with links to threads like this?
EDIT: there's already "Annoyances and Workarounds". :8
OK to add a link there?

Not sure if it needs stickying or not. There are only 7 threads in "Getting Started" atm. If that, then maybe the FAQ too...
