Giving archbang another try on bare metal with some greenish tweaks.
Decided to use wicd, i like it better than network manager.
Icons are Jade from here: https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Cinnamon/p/1169254/
wallpaper is from google somewhere... forgot to keep the link.
Tint2 layout thanks to a bunsenlabs forumite Damo.

Wow. You guys are definitely upping the stakes here for what constitutes a nice desktop. 8.(

I have been on a bit of a customising bender lately. Loving Polybar and this new OB/GTK theme. Took elements of damo's most excellent conky and added it to my own.

Agreed, it's a great album. I was lucky to catch them live in 2000 when they were promoting it.

Here's mine!
Wallpaper: "Normandy" / Bioware (I pixelated it)
WM: i3wm+i3statusbar (on top of the standard Openbox configs of BL)
No other changes has been made to the GUI. Showing a window is no point in i3, as it's made to fill the entire screen or divide between windows if there are multiple open in one virtual desktop.
Well, there's one change made - I set a GUI theme to the root account (why is that not a standard feature?). It's a softlink to what ever is configured for the user account.

Welcome to the BunsenGang
A major reason for not setting a root theme is that (a) Root is a different user, so "he" can set his own theme if he wants; (b) it is important to know when an application is running as root, so the default is to use the basic (ugly) Raleigh theme.
Personally I set it to something more pleasing, but noticeably different to my $USER's theme.

Thanks! I used Crunchbang for many years, then went directly to BL when it was discontinued. Today I figured that I should join the forums again too!
Yeah - you're absolutely right. Personally I think I have a pretty good idea of when I'm root and not, but I have made horrible mistakes in the past=P Could a tip be to change the default theme for Root from Raleigh to, as you say, a more pleasing theme? That's what I meant with my question. My preference is to have the same theme, hence the links, but the default could perhaps be to actually set a root theme.

No, it is generally advised to keep /root as "clean" as possible.
Also, running GUI applications as root is not a good idea because X is fundamentally insecure.
It is much better to run root commands via a terminal (or TTY) if at all possible.
Anyway, for Helium the default theme will change from Raleigh to Adwaita — whether this is an improvement or not is entirely in the eye of the beholder...

OH NO! A SAD DAY! 8.( 8.(
You know what, My sys did not last 24 hours without conky after that unintentional notice.
I thought conky it was substitutable but I realized a linux-system without conky is just an empty dish that's it.
So, back in action, conky-std and a simple horizontal line seemed fascinating.
Yes, Yes, I'm stuck in this image but i like it.
