...and then I installed Google Chrome, using the "install Chrome" item in the menu.
Just to have it, as I feel it is a little faster for dictionary searches and translation work. For all the rest, I prefer Firefox.
But now, the default web browser in the menu (and in the icon/button on the top left corner) point to Chrome.
I have set Firefox as my default web browser and it does start when I click on any saved .html document. But is there a way to change the "X Web Browser" back to Firefox (also in case I decide to install Opera and/or Chromium)?
Thanks in advance!

Try:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
Or you can use `galternatives` (there's a menu entry for it along with a help box).
Note sneaky Chrom{e,ium} setting it's priority to 200, naughty Google...

Menu -> System -> Edit Debian Alternatives, and scroll down to x-www-browser

That nailed it!
And also prevented further questions on the same line!
Thank you, damo and Head_on_a_Stick for the quick and definitive solution!
