[SOLVED] Switching the "default language"

When installing BL, I chose to have the installation procedure (and "default language for the installed system") in Japanese. Installation went well; the result works well. However, I've changed my mind: I'd prefer to have English as the default language. How would I go about making this change?

Re: [SOLVED] Switching the "default language"

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

Should do the trick.

Re: [SOLVED] Switching the "default language"

If you already have an English locale enabled, it's very easy: log out, and at the lightdm login screen choose your language from the menu at the top right before logging back in.

If you need another locale enabled, run:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

(up/down arrows to move, spacebar to select)
I usually chose "none" for the system default locale, but you might want to force one if the system chooses something you don't want for ttys or root shells.

Re: [SOLVED] Switching the "default language"

Solved! Thank you for your excellent advice. Well, BL is just as easily malleable as I'd hoped. Time permitting, I'll install it on my other toys as well.

Now looking for either a way to edit the thread title or a "mark as '[Solved]'" button, blushing at my stupid inability to find either. (Perhaps the procedure could go into the "Rules"?)

Click the "edit" link on your first post and you can also edit the title to add [SOLVED].
