And at our ages 'medicinal purposes' covers a lot of ground.... on occasion.  wink

I'm looking at a pączki recipe right now, and it looks like a filthy rich cousin of hillomunkki: rum or brandy in whipped cream, and you mix it in the dough!

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

Its starting to get cold... but the afternoons are still hot. I'm pondering whipping up another pitcher of iced coffee for refreshing afternoon drinks.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

While I am sitting here drinking my freeze dried coffee I am thinking I need to invest in a bean grinder.

The next coffee will come from the espresso machine.

Those Nespressos are pretty cool.  I still prefer my machine or my stove top for coffee.

I agree...they're cool alright, but they take the "soul" out of the process of making coffee....it's no longer an art, or a process to savour and enjoy...it's the equivalent of a coffee vending machine!

Yup, they are helpful for when you are in a ruch but still need that important first coffee of the day.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

^ Well, I didn't mean you have to drink coffee 24/7/365 - just that one can pour a cup any time.  big_smile

Or - In answer to the age old question:

Q: How do you like your coffee?

A: Intravenous.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

My cardiologist tried unsuccessfully to get me off caffeine. I told him, "What are you trying to do--kill me?"  big_smile Meanwhile I found an AMA and a Danish study that showed no direct link to triggering Afib. Wait until I tell him that one!  ]:D

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

I like my coffee black, with some splenda.. I have a sort of routine with my coffee drinking. Around mid-day I have my "strong" flavors which include these:

The Old Fashioned Donut...is to die for.... Because these are so strongly flavored, I wouldn't add anything to them...

Then when I get home, and have some stack of books, to read, and i'm scripting, I like something more...mellow. In which case I go for Don Francisco's Vanilla Nut or Cinnamon Hazelnut.... The Don Francisco brand is very very mellow, smooth and "dry". like a good red wine... I love it... In fact you can see my can of Donny Francisco peaking out of the back of the DD pumpkin in the photo lol.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

I only drink coffee once in a blue moon.  The acid in it doesn't sit well with my stomach and if I drink it regularly enough, the caffeine acts like a laxative on me.  I don't need that.  lol

Totally agree.  The whole point in drinking coffee is the caffeine buzz.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

Yup!! I have never been able to figure it out, why drink it?
It's like 'soya' tastes like meat.  NO!
Or artificial sweetener tastes like sugar ... NOT, and that after taste, do they tell you about that?  NO! YUK!

Coffee without caffeine is like a day without ... well coffee!  big_smile

Ooooo ... a trend:
Coffee without caffeine is like a pizza without cheese.

Come on guys and gals ...
Coffee without caffeine is like ...
