Recovering Journal loop

OK so first of all, I have a virtual machine. I have virtual box installed on Ubuntu (Host Machine). On Virtual box I am trying to install Kali Linux. I was able to accomplish this one time with out any problems, but I tried to add some new Kali Linux repositories in the "sources.list" file. I must have had messed it up some how because after I turned my computer off and then tried to boot Kali Linux up in the virtual box it crashed. It told me that there was a failure in the sources.list file. So instead of trying to fix it, I just deleted Kali Linux from the virtual machine. So I then reinstalled another one. Everything went fine but as soon as I try to boot and run Kali Linux it brings me to a black screen with the words "Recovering Journal" at the top. Just below that it tells me something about the hard drive and tells me about clean and blocked files. Then it will flash off, but then a second later it will come back and do the same thing all over again FOREVER. If you have any information on how to fix this please let me know at the email legostarcreates14@gmail.com or with a response on this website. *Remember I can't boot into Kali Linux at all*.

(Moderator note: moved to "Help & Support (Other)" as this question is about Kali Linux in a VM on an Ubuntu base, ie neither BunsenLabs nor Debian stable.)
