I recently installed GUVCView 1.53-1 and it was working fine. Today i opened it and when i clicked on video capture the program closed. Tried numerous times again after reboot with the same result. halp?

You'll have to provide more info. At least run the program from a terminal and copy any output it provides.

ah, ok. bit of a newb. once i ran the program in terminal i saw the error it was giving and corrected it. thanks.

No problem, you can mark this [SOLVED] by editing your original post's subject title. If you do, it would also help if you posted the error and solution, in case someone else has the same or a similar problem. It's VERY frustrating to be hunting down a solution to a Linux issue, finding a thread marked [SOLVED] but no solution to be found anywhere in the thread! Cheers!

here is what was spit out when i clicked video cap:
[mp2 @ 0x90c2320] Specified sample_rate is not supported
could not open codec
Segmentation fault
solved the problem by changing the audio sample rate to a supported rate or changing the audio format to one that is compatible with the current sample rate.
the odd thing i noticed it that when i hit the "defaults" button it doesn't reset these settings to how they were when the program opened the first time, which is why i was a bit confused as to why the default settings were not working.
