We had a release, we called it Deuterium. It featured UEFI support from the installer and updated packages for the system.
I get it though, from a #! perspective, it was decidedly un-fun. No new artwork, and no new label in lsb_release.
I blame myself on the artwork, mea culpa. Life has had me by the balls lately!

It's beautiful, it's elegant and shows BunsenLabs lighting the way in the darkness.
OK, a little sappy maybe but: it's beautiful and it's elegant! I love it!
Besides, it wasn't you, BunsenLabs is a team effort

Beautiful wallpaper! Downloaded.
I don't really think the collection of upgrades we put out as "Deuterium" really justifies a different lsb_release name though. The installer now supports EFI, but it's still basically the same system, and it's causing a certain amount of confusion among people who wonder if they need to do a reinstall - as of course they will when going from Hydrogen/Deuterium on Jessie to Helium on Stretch.

These point releases are similar to what Manjaro does??, they name their point releases after birdies.
Cool wallpaper HHH, downloaded thanks.

A point release is just some kind of balancer, better not change too much stuff.

I blame myself for the confusion around here... I think my confusion is so potent it literally radiates and affects others Honestly though, the fact that we have "two tracks" of releases, one paired with Debians, and one paired with our own packages, can't be helped if people get a bit confused as to what pairs with what... and how to keep track... I can't be the only one..
Love the wallpaper though hhh.

Bunsen Hydrogen will not change until Debian Jessie goes to Debian Stretch.
And now that all that's said ... yup, I was confused a bit too.

^ I think that's you're confusion, thinking that bl-* packages are following anything other than current Debian stable. They always are built against stable unless expressly noted otherwise.

@HB, the confusion is our fault, we shouldn't have renamed this as it's not a new Debian release. Too much of a PITA to rename these images Helium Hydrogen-20170429 (or something) now, though.
The next release will be called Helium and will be based on stretch. If we refresh those ISOs at some point, we'll still call it Helium.
Edit - apparently I'm also confused!

Yeah, it confused me until I read this thread. I thought maybe it was work being done with Debian Testing in preparation for the next stable release.
