Re: duplicate file and komparator

Where did you install the software from?

One of the best ways to find software compatable with BL is to use System > Synaptic Package Manager, from the right click menu.

Or better yet listen to @Head_On_A_Stick and @Damo <-- very smart blokes.

Don't be silly, there is no reason why you would know that.

To find out the name of the executable, I used https://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_packages to search for the package and then I clicked on the list of files link (at the bottom right of the package page) to see all of the files in the package, executables are usually in /usr/bin/  wink

Re: duplicate file and komparator

If you use dmenu ( Alt+F3 ) you can start typing the command, and various options will appear. So typing eg "komp" will probably show the actual "komparator4" command.

Another way would be to look in the list of files for the deb package (Help & Resources -> Debian -> Package search). Anything like "/usr/bin/<command>" should be obvious as the correct name for the executable.

^@damo I think we should have a direct link to that BL-desktop post in the default "Help" menu - no?

That makes sense.

Hello,

You can also use another program such as (DuplicateFilesDeleter) it's very easy and useful.

Samuel.

Why are you recommending a windows exe for a linux operating system?

Re: duplicate file and komparator

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but:

fslint-gui has been re-implemented in Rust and is called Czkawka (Polish for hiccup).

https://www.pixelbeat.org/fslint/
https://czkawka.com/

There is no Debian package for Czkawka AFAIK. The Flatpak version seems OK to me.
