I started using a YAD box with #! then went directly to menu entries as my needs are simple, log-out, reboot or shut down, I do not suspend or hibernate ever.
My old #! Obmenu, under Hanger, still active here on another partition - pre systemctl days :
<separator label="Hanger"/>
<item label="Punch Out">
<action name="Execute">
<command>terminator -e "kill -9 -1"</command>
</action>
</item>
<item label="Re-Boot">
<action name="Execute">
<command>sudo /sbin/reboot</command>
</action>
</item>
<item label="Power Down">
<action name="Execute">
<command>sudo /sbin/poweroff</command>
</action>
</item>
</menu>
</openbox_menu>
Keep in mind the "Air Force" idea of my OB Menu
This is keeping it simple.
@Has - sounds good to me.
EDIT: Today I use my own YAD box with BL to exit

Hate to get the knives out while <bl-exit coder> isn't here to defend himself, and his code, but to be honest I agree with what seems to be the general opinion on bl-exit.
For now, I'd be quite happy to go back to how it was before. This can be achieved by setting 'theme = classic' in bl-exitrc (that's what I use).
Should we do that by default in the new isos, leaving a copy of bl-exitrc in the user's .config/bl-exit dir for them to edit to taste? Alternatively, use the compromise resize of the current dialogue?
damo's suggestion of a yad dialogue sounds good. The only complication that occurs to me is whether we can enable all the keyboard accelerators that people want. @damo how about starting a discussion in "development"? At least, we can get things sorted out for Helium maybe? (Separating bl-exit out from bunsen-utilities into its own package was something that was brought up before in fact.)

@John, I can't quote properly on my phone, your second paragraph sounds like a good short term plan. Third paragraph for longer term. So +1.
If/when <bl-exit coder> returns, he can offer his input. We can't be held back by a lack of communication when our team is this small, if you ask me. Everyone who is contributing here should be confidant in their opinions as long as they state their intentions and allow time for input, on the forums, preferably, before proceeding. Agreed?

FWIW you still have 'windowWidthAdjustment' and 'dialogHeight' uncommented in your bl-exitrc.
Not in the selected "dark" theme though. And:
DEBUG bl-exit theme config option windowWidthAdjustment is not set for theme dark
DEBUG bl-exit theme config option dialogHeight is not set for theme dark
Anyway, if it's not going in the current isos, we can take it slowly...

I'll put some thought to it, but I will be in the mountains for the next few days, so mostly offline until midweek.

No sweat. Let's go back to the "classic" theme for now. (Sorry Dr. xaos.)

I had already switched back to "classic" and I am of the opinion that the user interface should remain unchanged after updates with new options and toys being explained rather than imposed.

That's a good idea. I hate when Firefox, for example, changes their UI for no apparent reason.

See here for an example of how the graphics pipemenu might add "... Image Viewer": https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 321#p48321

Possible CD iso RC?
I think this might actually be OK for release. Consider it an RC for now:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7BNzo … sp=sharing
live-image-i386-CD14.hybrid.iso
sha256sum: 7c755485a9d2f67b4a08ae05c23afa7e911ccb3e7f3118816a6b8606315f0d3b
Pipemenus redone, hopefully to Has' satisfaction (Whatever image viewer is set as bl-image-viewer goes to the top and has "Image Viewer" tacked on to its name.)
libreoffice-gtk will be installed with any libreoffice component.
That PAE jump in bl-welcome fixed.
bl-exit set to "classic" theme in /etc/bl-exit/bl-exitrc.
Threw in catfish, gigolo and hexchat to plug three empty menu items. (In fact that leaves only filezilla and transmission-gtk missing.) That took the iso size up to 699.4MB (or 667.0 MiB), so should still just fit on a CD.
I've tested CD13 with a hardmetal install, and this CD14 in a VM. If it also looks OK to you guys, I could post it publicly as an RC, and go on to building the full-sized i386 and amd64 isos with the same improvements.

Release this into the wild please! Any more work and we'll just be nitpicking.
xfce4-power-manager from our backport displays an icon even without a battery, we're fine there.
I booted this Live from a Dell Vostro tower, I'm not sure of the model (3900 maybe?) There were white dots on the corners of the application launcher icons in tint2, I'm sure upgrading to the 686 kernel would have fixed it.
I installed this to my laptop, it took 10 minutes. mpv was slow to open on first run (configuring itself?), lightning fast after that.
An issue in bl-welcome that I hadn't noticed before, it's probably a sudo issue... when you're prompted for your password the first time...
sudo password for hhh:
blah blah power and responsibility...
#1) blah
#2) yadda
#3) yadda
And the cursor waits for you after the warning's list. Is that how it's always been? For a few seconds I thought the script had hung.
Anyway, great job, John. Ship it.
-edit- Oh yeah, it's good to have the old bl-exit back.

That's a known issue with Intel graphics cards, jessie uses the ancient UXA acceleration method as standard:

Good old ew, eh?
EDIT: downloading the ISO now, I will test at the earliest convenience.

OK I'll post the CD iso as an RC in the dev section, and if no gotchas come up, and when the other two isos are also ready, we can do an official release.
(I don't anticipate any complications with the regular isos, but... that doesn't mean there won't be any.)

They look superficially OK, I've installed the i386 on an old laptop, and the amd64 in a VM.
If no-one hits any issues I'll post them in dev, and we might be good to go official soon...
@hhh, that bl-welcome sudo password code hasn't changed lately, and I had no lag there. After the 3 warnings it went straight to the password prompt.

This was on my end, some instance where I configured the wifi connection as I was running bl-welcome, I think. Same with the XF86 volume keys, they're working intermittently (can't believe I spelled that right on the first try!)
I installed the amd64 ISO to my laptop, no issues so far. Feel free to post them on the forums for testing.

They've got deb.debian.org for the apt url's (except security, still the generic url), added efibootmgr and chntpw, and fixed up bl-x-www-browser-pipemenu where I'd forgotten to bring in the new code that doesn't rely on the user's pipemenus.rc. Various other mistakes caused some re-builds (note that CD is up to 17) but I think these are now OK.
Do we need to go through the RC posting all over again? Tomorrow I'll do hardware installs of all three (live seems OK) and maybe soon we can actually do an official release? It's taken a lot longer than I expected, with various distractions...
If any of you have time to do a live run or install tonight or tomorrow, and it's OK, maybe we can just start moving? Very little has changed from the previous public RCs.
