A somewhat trivial addition, but the xfce image viewer ristretto seems quite light and pleasant, likewise gpicview from lxde. No problem to add them both to the default apps list for bl-graphics-pipemenu, or to the list of apps which get recognized as candidates for bl-image-viewer?

I know gpicview has a few fans around here, and I've tried ristretto in the past. Adding them to the options is fine by me.

Before switching to sxiv I've just geeqie for several years. It's the best power-user image viewer IMO (fully customizable shortcuts everywhere, lots of features, ...) but it's a bit like the old GIMP: powerful & functional but (over-?)loaded UI.

^ I hadn't heard of either of those, I'll have to check them out!
I've used gpicview for years, it's very light (no thumbnail sidebar) but has a few features I like (rotate image, zoom, no-fade-transition slideshow).
Fine by me!
I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

No problems that I can see, nice little applications those

Geeqie may be overkill for average use, but is great for viewing, sorting and moving vast numbers of photos in combination with Thunar or Nautilus. For professional photographers using Linux it's indispensable.

I have used both for quite some time, so you have my vote.

This. I think geeqie is the only one that handles raw image format natively. If you're just adding options to a pipe menu, I'd include it.

We could add it in the default list, no problem. Of course users can add apps to their pipemenus locally too, in ~/.config/openbox/pipemenus.rc.
In fact I've just done that and installed it. Quite impressive.
Any objections to adding geeqie to the options?

+1 for geeqie, thats my main viewer.
A fast RAW viewer in my opinion.

I just tried qeeqie out, very impressed and switched over to it.

Very impressed with geeqie as well....but "Set as wallpaper" doesn't work well with Openbox. The wallpaper set with nitrogen is still displayed, but the geeqie one shows as the background in the conky!

geeqie is great! I think it's a really good image viewer to view and sort pictures.
Tried gpicview and ristretto. Both seem to be nice lightweight image viewers and gpicview works with Firetools. What I like about Mirage though is the crop feature (those two do not have it). I'm wondering if there are some useful features which are included in gpicview and ristretto but Mirage does not offer it? There is "clear private data" in ristretto, but it's not clear to me what it does (is it maybe about thumbnails?). So far Mirage and geeqie are my favorites, so +1 for adding it to the options.
