[SOLVED] No battery monitor in systray

I need a battery monitor in my systray.

Here is the Panel section of my tint2 config:

# Panel
panel_monitor = all
panel_position = top center horizontal
panel_items = LTBSC
panel_size = 100% 30
panel_margin = 0 -1
panel_padding = 0 0
panel_dock = 0
wm_menu = 1
panel_layer = bottom
panel_background_id = 1

and here is the Battery section:

# Battery
battery = 1
battery_low_status = 20
battery_low_cmd = notify-send "battery low"
battery_hide = 96
bat1_font = Monospace 8
bat2_font = Monospace 8
battery_font_color = #b5b5b5 100
battery_padding = 2 0
battery_background_id = 0

I'm new to tint editing, so if the answer to my problem is documented somewhere, please point me to it! I did search this Forum.

Thank you.

Maybe in the manager xfce4-power-manager you have to comment icon, I had the same problem (excuse my English)

@luvalem: Thank  you for that suggestion. And where is that file so I can comment the icon?

Re: [SOLVED] No battery monitor in systray

Update to my original post:

After a reboot, the battery level appears as "80%" between the taskbar and the systray. There is a second line below it, "00:00". and hovering the mouse over it does nothing.

What am I missing to have a battery icon with a popup notification?

@jschall, hang tight, someone will answer your question shortly, I'm sure. I'm posting from my phone and my BL desktop knowledge is rusty ATM!

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

Menu -> Preferences -> Power Mangement,  then check "Show system tray icon"

Re: [SOLVED] No battery monitor in systray

Thank you, @BLenderer, BUT:

My Xcfe Power Manager/General tab doesn't have a "Show system tray icon" checkbox.

I guess I need a different version?

In a terminal, run bl-welcome and accept the backported version of xfce4-power-manager.

Re: [SOLVED] No battery monitor in systray

@TESTING!!!!!! - Thank you, that worked.

It's the third time I've run that bl-welcome script. I don't know why it didn't offer the backported version of xfce4-power-manager before. What does "back-ported" mean, anyway?
