MPD - audio deamon - how to fix glitchy playback with PulseAudio

I tried changing settings in the mpd.conf file, like audio_buffer_size "2048" .etc but no joy, then found on internet this advice:

 sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa

and comment out the line

 load-module module-suspend-on-idle

That fixed it for me. Just posting this in case it helps anyone else.
