[SOLVED] Other keyboard issues (ABNT-2)

Hello, all of you.
It is somewhat thrilling to finally write anything to all of you, given that I used CB for the last 5 years and just recently upgraded to BL.

And during all that time, every single issue I had was solved due to other people"s posts.

But this time.

I can"t seem to configure the keyboard of my "new" system properly. As always, I"ve read all of the older topics, and couldn"t resolve the issue using

sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

Simply because it seems my keyboard is not listed.
This is my new keyboard layout:

If I am right in not having this keyboard supported, could you guys teach me how to configure a new keymap?

Thanks in advance,

Re: [SOLVED] Other keyboard issues (ABNT-2)

Hi
Welcome a board! ( get it? board...key board? sorry tongue )

Anyway have you tried this?

apt-get install console-data

This will intiially launch a quick text based setup for your keyboard

Then run:

dpkg-reconfigure console-data

This will allow you to change and modify the prior set up.

Hope this helps...

Re: [SOLVED] Other keyboard issues (ABNT-2)

Thank you a lot, but I still can"t find the proper words to express gratitude. Or should I say symbols.

Even when I plug in my standard all-around usb keyboard, I can"t seem to achieve unlocking the right symbols. I type from Brazil. Here, to the right of L, we have a Ç on the keyboard. That much works. But from to the right of Ç, there should come a tilde, but I get a ª.

Any other ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] Other keyboard issues (ABNT-2)

Solved.
Just Ch-ch-check it out!?!
Ação!
Nice, huh? ;^)
I'll register here what I did to solve it.

And I want to thank Horizon_Brave for the help.
It was through console-data data I was able to install the keymap we use here, called abnt2.

Simply by editing /etc/default/keyboard to the following arrange

# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE

# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.

XKBMODEL="abnt2"
XKBLAYOUT="br"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS="compose:lwin"

BACKSPACE="guess"

I was able to select the desired keymap, that, though listed in console-data, couldn't overwrite the changes made by keyboard-configuration.

Thanks,
TY.
Get it? Huh? Thank You with TY from Type?
Ah, forget it.
