[SOLVED] Fn keys stopped working

About two days ago I noticed that my function keys are not working anymore so i.e. I'm not able to launch dmenu-bind, execute a command ad so on ...
If I debug the problem with xev (and say I hit F3) result is

KeymapNotify event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x0,

that seems fine.
Where could I start to search for sorting out how "reset fn keys"?

that seems fine.

that does NOT look fine to me. notice it says "Return" although you pressed F3.

comparison from my machine:

    root 0xf3, subw 0x0, time 4201990, (-108,673), root:(456,693),
    state 0x0, keycode 69 (keysym 0xffc0, F3), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes: 
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Looks like dmenu is bound to <Alt>+f rather than a function key -- does that combination work?

@Head_on_a_Stick this is an hack I've done to be able to launch dmenu-bind anyway.

@ohnonot you are right, I didn't read carefully the output. But how understand what troubleshoot this strange behaviour?

You could load up the BunsenLabs ISO image and select the "live session" to test for hardware failure.

Also, have you checked your firmware (BIOS) settings for anything relating to the function keys?

Checked with Busenlab ISO (bl-Hudrogen-amd64_20160710): problem is present.
With an ubuntu problem does not exists.
Remember that a few days ago problem wasn't present on my installed Bunsenlab.

Finally I understood.
If I hit fn + F2 xev display F2 key so it seems that "fn" key is set to be always "pressed". To resolve my problem I need to discover how turn off this behaviour.

Solved. With an hotkey combination I had special key Fn (between Ctrl and Windows key on my Latitude 3350) turned always on. Doing the hotkey combination again it was turned off and my life, now, is happier.
