Keyboard Language Switcher ?

Is there an easy way to swap keyboard languages like you can in Windows 10? In Windows 10 you can use hot keys or click the language button near the clock and swap to another language very quickly.

Re: Keyboard Language Switcher ?

Use ibus or fcitx. They both enable you to switch keyboard layouts and/or input methods via applet and keyboard shortcut.

You can do this natively with just X11 (see here) but fcitx/ibus are easier to configure. Don't forget to add either ibus or fcitx to your autostart file.

Thanks. I chose ibus and it works great.
I also found this website on the differences of those two choices: https://blogs.gnome.org/happyaron/2011/ … f-summary/

IBus has been changed significantly since 1.5 under the influence of GNOME Shell.
If you investigate about IBus, old articles (IBus 1.4 or earlier) will not be referenced.
