Install Printing Support HP LASERJET 1600

I thinking of going back to bunsenlabs linux. I'm curious if post installation script is enough to for printer to work properly ? Is it still needed to download and install newest hplip from HP site and use command for the file to identify as debian not bunsenlabs sudo apt-get purge bunsen-os-release

I have used this as is and did not have to change anything and every thing is working as it should be.
