[SOLVED] How to *Always* Download with Editing Location Option

Hey everyone,  so both Firefox, and Chromium when you want to save an image or file, you can right click on it, and click 'save link as.." or 'save image as'  What this does is allows you to interact and browse using Thunar, where you want to put the file, and allow you to rename, or change the extension etc... Something like below:

But if you go to download something from "inside" the page, for example, clicking the download button for a zip file, or clicking on a download button to download the git repo at github etc...  Doing this will present a 'static' download menu option that just gives you the option to download or not.  It looks like below:

The only options are Open and Save.

So my question is, is there a way to ONLY call the first option. That is, no matter if it's a "in browser" download option or if you right click on an object and choose "save as" , they will give you the first option of allowing you to browse the filesystem, rename, etc..?

Thanks in advance!

Re: [SOLVED] How to *Always* Download with Editing Location Option

In the Firefox General settings you can set an option called "always ask me where to save files". wink
In Chrome/ium it's under settings > scroll to bottom > show advanced settings > checkbox marked "ask where to save each file before downloading".

Hope this helps smile

Edit: Firefox will still pop up the window with the save/open options IIRC, but selecting 'save' will open a 'save as' box instead of immediately saving to 'Downloads'.

The servant lifted off a kind of ottoman a long peacock-blue drapery, rather of the nature of a domino, on the front of which was emblazoned a large golden sun, and which was splashed here and there with flaming stars and crescents. “You’re to be dressed as Thursday, sir,” said the valet somewhat affably.
