[NotABug]Select default browser exits

Hi everyone,

main menu > Network > WWW browsers > Select default browser

it asks for my password, I type it in and I press Enter, then it just exits!

respectfully

Have you installed any other browsers? If not, then this is the expected behaviour. If you run the command directly in a terminal, do you get the following?

damo@bl-iso:~$ sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
[sudo] password for damo:
There is only one alternative in link group x-www-browser (providing /usr/bin/x-www-browser): /usr/bin/firefox-esr
Nothing to configure.

Re: [NotABug]Select default browser exits

But did you manually install Palemoon, without adding it to alternatives ?

Menu -> System -> Edit Debian Alternatives

x-www-browser calls the default browser for any X environment.

gnome-www-browser is intended to run on a GNOME DE.

AFAIK.

Do a web search with your question  wink

Re: [NotABug]Select default browser exits

should I take this to feature requests? as it SHOULD NOT exit, it should simply say that there is no alternative.

I agree the script probably should exit more gracefully. I will flag it up on github.
