Hey, I've just discovered some of the "benefits" of passing 60 here in the UK......free drug prescriptions and a free eye-test! The gov also keeps wanting to screen me for various conditions. I don't know whether to laugh or cry
Unfortunately they have upped the threshold age for a free bus pass, so I'm not eligible until 2022

Sector11 present and accounted for! Coffee anyone?
I'm sorry, I'm finished 'snapping-to' and calling people Sir! a long time ago.
There is a young lieutenant trying to get a coke out of a machine but has no change, a private is walking by ...
Lt. "Private, do you have change for a five?"
Pvt. "Yea, I think so just let me che...."
LT. "Just a minute Pvt. I'm an officer. When I address you you will stand to attention and address me as SIR!. Now let's start again. Private, do you have change for a five?"
Pvt. ... snapping to attention ... "SIR! NO, SIR!"

Greetings all, yes, like Sector11, I'm still present and accounted for. I've officially entered my 70th year and am perplexed about how so many years could have passed so quickly, despite the 60s interlude of sex'n drugs'n rock 'n roll.

Hadn't posted here before but i'm a crusty old(er) bastard and it has slipped by quicky.
Search for the true meaning of life, religion, party time, hard work, and find out it's 42 with Linux, happy with that! : )
Life is merely an existence unless you experience it!

@g33zr you old far...far.. farmer you! So you're really old, I mean 7.0 what can I say I'm still 6.7 - for a bit longer. So good to see you.
@ zepher - I think that's wrong, 42 was the answer to life the universe and everything.
But 42 with Linux - now that's a combo I'll bet the mice didn't even think about.

They can if the size boundary is an 8-bit byte
EDIT: Technical discussion in the Bunsen Lounge? Harrumph - pass me the London Times so I can sit behind it and rustle it with contempt.

Shouldn't that be 0x00101010 in that case?
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed...
If there's an obscure or silly way to break it, but you don't know what.. Just ask me

Isn't that a prefix telling the compiler that the integer is written in hexadecimal?

Wouldn't know, I rarely talk to compilers, something niggled at me from Windows Autoscript.. and of course those BSODs I'm so familiar with..

42 = Decimal
101010 = Binary
52 = Octal
2A = Hexadecimal
It's all the same ... but Deep Thought just didn't realize that the ANSWER is really:
42 with Linux
101010 with Linux
52 with Linux
2A with Linux
Seven and a half million years to get it WRONG! What a shame!!
Start here and go on for 7.5 million years!

A couple of years ago, I had the lenses of both eyes replaced. In the meantime, my right eye developed some sort of clouding. The doctor said it was behind the lens. So, yesterday, she used a carefully aimed laser beam to zap out the clouding material. She shot it about 50 times. Immediately afterwards, I was just about completely blind in my right eye, but now it is much better. I can see better, too.
Also, congratulations, vrkalak!

Cataracts Tim? My MIL had that done about 8 month ago. Now she doesn't need glasses.

Since the replacement lenses are of a fixed focal length, I now don't need glasses for far sight - 20/20 vision as checked by my surgeon's staff prior to my recent laser surgery. However, I do need reading glasses (+2.5) and computer glasses (+1.25) for near vision. Luckily, cheap reading glasses do just fine for this.
