Whoops sorry for the delay. So yea using my B.L install, I inserted a Kingston USB drive, Thunar Volume manager picked it up immediately, and mounted it. I was able to read and write to it. I could drag and drop files etc.
Also note that where it was mounted, on /media/mothra/ which looks to be owned by root and has mostly root only permissions though.

If you load up the BunsenLabs ISO image and select the "Live session", can you drag and drop files to the stick normally on that desktop?

I'm traveling at the moment, so I don't have my ISO-stick handy and creating one would be a bit of a hassle. I'll get back at you next week, I guess.

Thanks HoaS! No wonder I never noticed it, it's on the board I visit least! I'll re-key map my "prt scr" button to trigger scrot (I hate the name of that program btw..lol)
