RSS reader?

Hints:
a. No to akregator (Besides bringing in lots of kde stuff, still looks broken), no to liferea (slow/bork), no to java based stuff if possible
b. Command line newsbeuter seems to be the most cute right now (and it is a keeper for tech stuff), but the problem is half of my feeds are "art" related, that is images, any suggestions? (Newsbeuter also seems to lack combined view..., or i didn't find it).

c. No I didn't like feedly service (Its paying time when you click search.), I do like the look of their Android app a lot thought. I would rather skip any cloudy service if possible. Cloud solutions are definately a big NO.
d. nrss didn't have opml import ..., olive fails with opml import
e. tickr is no no and also doesn't support half of the feed formats.

Suggestions?

Sorry, but I can't see this! I have used liferea for years and it seems snappy and reliable to me, even on my ancient hardware.

What problems have you had with liferea?

Zill: broken skin/gui, slow scroll speed (seems much slower than your average browser), but let's stick to the subject: interesting rss reader.
p.s. oh, a subjective one: it certainly feels like the tree approach is not that interesting, but the same mostly goes for others as well.

Nice, but imho worse than feedly (also seems buggy and AI certainly lacks > they show 16x16 similies as post cover and such..), also seems to have feed updating troubles.

edit: On a plus side: They did inform me about the option of remote opml subscription, which is mighty interesting concept (brings in "use any reader you want on any device you want" < if they support that concept).
edit: It appears that Newsbeuter looses it's tags when switching to opml subscription scheme (Seems like exported feed is missing any structure).

Anyway a cloud solution is definately no.

Keep them coming. (@nobody: I will test ttrss in the near future).

1.) The Old Reader: Another online service but one I rather liked. Quite traditional and offers opml import if I recall correctly. As with all online services, the benefit is to me to be able to access it from anywhere and all devices. https://theoldreader.com/ Dropped for feedly in the end though.

2.) A home made solution with owncloud and their rss feed plugin.

3.) A home grown solution from the Debian package repos that will pull in feeds to your box, similar to leafnode or slrn for newsgoups, so you can then display and read them in your browser. I think it's called Tiny RSS. No, it's Tiny Tiny RSS. Go figure.

I personally use Thunderbird (on Windows) - works really well. Can import and export OPML to get you started.
