Your links might be broken WaltH, if you could please correct them, thanks.

Okay. I'm still figuring out how things work in this forum and thought the number to the right was the post number to use. Maybe these are correct? one and two

I'm running the accuweather_1a script as part of my Conky.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Ah right..., now I see.
You should follow the procedure of the first post, but with the updated script of the second post.
If you wait a few hours, I'll post the script and the conkyrcs I've made so far in a single post for people to test.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and the support, keep testing (or start if you aren't tongue)...

Unfortunately no, because then the script would have to download each day's page individually --> great loss of resources.

https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 634#p36634

I think that we have found it ...
In the script for the line is 183 this entry

...
date +%T > $HOME/1_accuweather/aktualisiert
...

neu2_accuweather.th.png

I had not noticed that the argument by the merging of 1a, 1b, etc. in my case

./1_accuweather -f

above stands.  :8

I hope Teo, I'm correct.  smile

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Hey Teo ... Remember when I said I'm on it, starting now.  Life had other plans. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

So today I'll start and hopefully get something done.  I've tweaked a couple to be conky v1.9 friendly.  Quite surprised that the new script works out of the box - for 1a and 1b1 anyway - in test conkys.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

One more time:

Create a folder in your home directory and name it

1_accuweather

Create another folder inside it and name it

Forecast_Images_2016

Go into that folder and run the following script:

#!/bin/bash

for (( i=1; i<=9; i++ ))
	  do
          wget -O $i.svg http://vortex.accuweather.com/adc2010/images/slate/icons/0$i.svg
	  done
for (( i=10; i<=44; i++ ))
	  do
          wget -O $i.svg http://vortex.accuweather.com/adc2010/images/slate/icons/$i.svg
	  done

This will download all the new images into that folder.
Provided you have imagemagick installed, run the following script

#!/bin/bash

for i in *.svg
do
	fn=$(basename "$i")
	echo $i
	n=${fn%.*}
	convert -background none "$n".svg "$n".png
done

inside the folder to convert all svg images to png format (conky doesn't support svg unfortunately).
The good news is that the new images are gorgeous and also that they are the same with the old ones (ie. 1.png from the old images describes the same weather as 1.png from the new images). Therefore, in the new script, you can either use the old or the new images, it makes no difference.
You just change the folder name to wherever you have saved the old images and you're good to go.

Now go into the 1_accuweather folder.
The new script is the following:

#!/bin/bash

if (( $# < 1 )); then
	exit
fi

#put your Accuweather address here
#address="http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-york-ny/10017/weather-forecast/349727"

I have merged the 1a, 1b and 1c scripts.

Name the new script 1_accuweather and use it with the argument -f, -h, or both.
-f           downloads info about current conditions and a 10 days forecast, what the 1a and 1b scripts used to do
-h          downloads hourly weather for the next 16 hours (unfortunately I can't find the previous 8 hours), i.e. the old 1c script
namely:

./1_accuweather -f -h

or

./1_accuweather -h -f

Download everything, 10days' and 16hours' forecast

./1_accuweather -f

Download only the 10days' forecast

./1_accuweather -h

Download only the 16hours' forecast

If you pass no arguments to the script, it will exit without doing anything.

The hourly forecast will create a file called altogether16, ready to be called by a single execpi command.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

I'll wait for a couple of days and then the new script will be tarballed and posted on the 1rst page.
Any feedback is more than welcome.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

I've just finished updating my conky config, but there's two things missing.

My conky looks like this (config):

So where is tonight's info? xD

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

No TONIGHT info with the new script I'm afraid.
It's just current conditions and 10 future forecasts (it could be a day of the week, tonight, early am, today, etc.)

I can see that it changes TODAY/TONIGHT. Dammn. I really wanted the two separate objects. big_smile

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Yeah, I know, it's frustrating.
TODAY/TONIGHT is not consistent in Accuweather's page.
Many times it's TONIGHT/TOMORROW.
If you download info for TOMORROW, you'll repeat the same info later when you download the forecast for the 1rst day.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

In looking back at my .conkyrc, I was not using the images but rather was using the ConkyWeather font with the 1a script. Also, my Conky was set up to pull current conditions, the forecast for today/tonight, the forecast for tomorrow, and the forecast for the day after. That was all I wanted or needed, as ten day forecasts are notoriously inaccurate. Am I correct in thinking there is no longer a way to keep the information to this (without knowing a great deal about scripting myself, which I don't)?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

The TODAY/TONIGHT part is not always there in Accuweather's forecast page.

Have a look at this
LNQgeq5t.jpg
No today info: if I pulled the weather for TONIGHT and TOMORROW, the info for tomorrow would be repeated later on when I would download the forecast for the first 5 days.
The above is redundant IMO: the forecast would be for Current Conditions, Tonight, Tomorrow(Saturday), Saturday(again), Sunday,etc.
You get the idea...

New York, for example, has TODAY/TONIGHT at this particular moment
43xjHyRt.jpg
but later on, in the evening, it will become TONIGHT and TOMORROW.

I hope I don't confuse you too much.
