We don't have the option of splitting posts off and then merging the new thread with an existing thread?  That's what I would have done at #!.

EDIT:  Ok, I see your point; you're worried about an older merged post getting buried by newer posts already in the thread.  Right?

not sure how he made a 16 min video out of this, but i disagree.
pooping inside your living space of 16 cubic meters (*) (or less) - no.
without smell? i don't buy it. maybe he doesn't smell it anymore.

for me, living in a van always equaled being in nature (granted, that might have been a strip of shrubbery besides the parking place sometimes) and shitting went thusly:

a) take shovel; something like this will do (it's small):
https://3dexport.com/items/2015/02/26/3 … 506261.jpg
but i prefer a proper spade; it's much easier to dig with it:

b) dig hole.
here's an example, but for a single shit, it can obviously be smaller:

c) take shit, in this position (which btw is much better for emptying your bowels; try it at home!):

(*) that would have been about the size of the insides of my van: 8 square meters, and somewhat less than 2m height. His was much smaller.

Nice entrenching tool. wink  Standard issue kit for US Army grunts (probably all other armed forces worldwide), easily carried in a ruck sack or van.

We typically called self-dug temporary latrines "cat holes", by the way.

That's what I call family size. Add a vertical pole for sitting and you can use it for a week.

Did you watch the full video?  He states that he pours a bit of bleach into the bag when he's done.  The bleach in my mind would take care of any odors.

Actually, that's what Bob Wells, the godfather of van dwellers IMO, recommends in his how-to video on the same topic over on the Enigmatic Nomadics YouTube channel.

Update:  Bob Wells and a guy named James encountered creativity differences of opinion, so Bob has started his own channel and any videos he did on the Enigmatic Nomadics channel have been removed.  Most of the videos will be re-edited and posted on Bob's new site.  However, he has stated that there will be some videos that will never appear again.   hmm

Buildroot is a simple, efficient and easy-to-use tool to generate embedded Linux systems through cross-compilation.

It uses a menu-driven configuration system, just like the kernel and can build an entire system cool
