Upgrade BL to Wheezy / Ruby version management

Is this even possible? Is this stupid? Should I not even ask?

I need to do Ruby things for which there is no backport dependency tree to Jessie. I need to be in Ruby 2.2.2 to get happy with Jekyll/GitHub/etc.

Would I be shooting myself in the foot on this one? Should I consider going full-on Debian if I want to go this way?

@madoromi - This is pretty neat. I'd not heard of this. I was actually planning on doing a writeup of jenv, which I use to dev stuff for work all the time. I also discovered penv and pyenv. Maybe it'd be cool to do a writeup of all of these types of environments with multiple concurrent versions?

Would Vagrant be overkill for something like this?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I have successfully installed ruby by following these instructions:
