Hey, guys. I have troubleshooted the audio problem as per the sticky, but I never had the problem that the sticky seems to fix in the first place. The nature of my problem is that everything is set up properly, but I still receive no actual audio. I'm on the latest kernel, 4.6, volti is routed correctly, and I still am not getting any audio played back to my headphones. Nothing is muted.

Hello yasuke1, welcome to the forums
When you say that:
I still am not getting any audio played back to my headphones
Is there any sound from the main speakers?
Please run these commands and post the full output here:
uname -a
amixer
cat ~/.config/volti
pacmd list-sources
pacmd list-sinks
Please use code tags when posting terminal output to aid readability.

Thanks for the welcome! The thing is I don't have speakers. I only have headphones, and then when I wanna display something to the TV I connect an HDMI. HDMI will play audio when I configure it to in pavucontrol, but the headphones will never play sound even though pavucontrol makes it look like they do. (Note: my headphones are in the speaker/line-out port for this)

In pavucontrol [Super+v] go to the Output Devices tab. Make sure it is unmuted and set the Port to Headphones, do you get sound? Also make sure the Playback tab has everything unmuted.
I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

YIKES! It was muted. I'm really an idiot. Ahhhhh. Sorry guys!

cat ~/.config/volti output
cat: /home/ben/.config/volti: Is a directory
Ooops, sorry :8
That should have been `cat ~/.config/volti/config` but it doesn't matter now

No need for an apology. There's a good chance that if you mute sound it will stay muted until you fix it via pavucontrol again (known issue). Search the forum or post back here if that's the case.
Otherwise, feel free to edit the subject of this thread to include [SOLVED].

Yep! I got 'bit' by this too. It stays muted across reboots too which is annoying
