As I always dig the net for some useful scripts I found this :
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php?topic=132199.0
It uses gtkdialog (a real pain to me to configure , me stupid :\ ) but looks great.
And here is the code , rewritten by me 'cause BL has systemctrl and other config files as in the original.
But it works.
See :
And the code : http://pastebin.com/SehF6G60
Disclaimer: it has some dependencies, first gtkdialog to draw the main window, which is not in the Debian repos, I had to grab it from the AntiX repos.
Perhaps it would be better to rewrite using yad, but till now I had no time (and strength ) to do it.

Looks great! Very useful, especially for people (like me
) who don't know where to look for certain things.

@johnraff, damo, Hoas, Xaos. Interesting, what do you think?
I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

I always thought we were lacking an easy sysmon application. It would be neat to use available resources, especially using something like yad ![]()

If it could be rewritten to use yad it might be interesting!
Of course there are already a lot of system info utilities both cli and GUI; I quite like hardinfo for example, but it doesn't give you any editing powers.

Suggestion Nr.1 (as mentioned soon ) : rewrite it to yad. If the look wouldn't be the same doesn't matters.
Suggestion Nr.2 gtkdialog is a tiny package only with the basic dependencies. The sources are available, it might not be impossible to compile it for BL.
