Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

Several years ago, my brother and I walked into a cafe, and a barista -- she was a bodybuilder, it seemed -- asked my brother what he was ordering. "I like my women like I like my coffee: Hot and strong," he said. She smirked, gave him an eye roll, and gave him a coffee. She looked at me and I said, "I like my women like I like my coffee: In a ceramic mug." She laughed and gave me a coffee.

I think I may have won that round. But anyway, I'll take a cup of whatever light roast you're brewing.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

Today is the "Kanelbullens dag" i.e. "cinnamon bun day" for the non-Swedish speaking. So please feel free to grab one or maybe two to go with your coffee or tea.

A perfect match to a Swedish "Fika".

Got so exited, will shape up.

Edit:
Hmm, apparently I did that more than once. I made commence and have resized all pictures in my previous posts.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

My daily caffeine regimen is strong coffee in the morning and green tea in the afternoon.  But sometimes I'll substitute a double espresso for the soothing cup of green tea.  yikes

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

I think I mentioned this in the #! coffee thread, but...

...hold on, I need to get my flame-retardant suit before finishing this...

...am I the only one here who actually doesn't mind the taste of freeze-dried instant coffee?  Not the powdered stuff, the but the flakes.  I think it's actually more tolerable than the "institutional" coffee grounds that come in pre-measured pouches.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

@pvsage
I actually have to agree on this.
Also it way ahead of the stuff we get at work from the "vending machine". Although we currently have whole beens thats get grounded prior to you cup, it's a nightmare to get to "learn" the taste again if you have been out of office for a couple of days.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

They are not quite what you would call donuts, but rather like deep fried sweet buns with a hole in the middle. Spherical or large flat ones are filled with jam, usually apple or raspberry.

Re: Bunsen Coffee Shoppe

@nore:  In my area we have something the Poles call Pączki that invade the donut stands about the same time as the first full moon after the vernal equinox.  Are these similar to your jelly rounds?
