Yeh, I used to play a lot with LXDE, LXQt and Razor. Qt-land, you know. But it's always the same story. The one and only DE that actually tempts me to use a DE is KDE. Otherwise I'd better go with WMs. Kwin standalone is an old dream some day I'll make it happen. They say it's finally posible with KDE5. With KDE4 kwin tugged half (or more) KDE with it and never managed to make it run smooth. Whenever I'm done exploring bspwm, FrankenWM and swm maybe I give kwin a spin.

Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

@HoaS, it's 3:30 in the morning your time. What gives? Early riser? Job? Insomnia?

What me? I party like I'm a rock star, but few think I'm a rock star. I do though, that's what counts.

Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

Ash versus Evil Dead is awesome. Eagerly awaiting the second season.

And yeah. There's not a "the" in that title. It's one of those little things that drives me crazy, especially since I'm unaware of any reason for it. It just sounds wrong.

Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

I was hoping for a nice april fools "patch" on the lkml, but this time it seems like they've gone too  far:
"New syscall: leftpad()" yikes
https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/3/31/1108

I can't distinguish trolling anymore (it seems like GKH took it seriously).

As everyone knows, within the kernel everything is faster and better.
>> Leftpad has millions of users, so it has to be as fast as possible.
>> This new system call will also help making services like left-pad.io[2]
>> faster and more reliable. If the leftpad() system call gets adopted by a wider user base
>> it might also make sense to add a generic npm() system call which acts like ioctl()

lol

Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

I'm glad that we don't include xscreensaver in BunsenLabs.

Since I use Vanilla LXDE (which ships with Xscreensaver installed), a startup splash warning stating that "your version is very old!" has compelled me to search for a way to disable said splash.
