ath9 does not show up or work

Unfortunately, it seems that I have a hardware detection problem. I'm not writing from my CB install as it cannot connect to the www. I'm not a newbie so I loaded that ath9k driver myself. ifconfig still did not find any devices. Your's is not the only distro that does this.
The kernel I'm running is 3.2.0 which the system came with.

lspci:
bit Ethernet PCIe [14e4:16b3] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device [1025:0775]
        Kernel driver in use: tg3
--
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0036] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Lite-On Communications Inc Device [11ad:0632]
        Kernel driver in use: ath9k
The btw. eth adapter does not show up either.
Here's the output of grep'ing syslog:

Your's is not the only distro that does this.

Can you eliminate hardware failure?

Your card is fully supported and needs no firmware to be loaded.

Can we see the output of:

dmesg|grep 'ath\|wlan'
ip a

Re: ath9 does not show up or work

I'll give you it when I reboot, probably late today, early tomorrow.

Seems like OP is using crunchbang Waldorf, not bunsenlabs!

Re: ath9 does not show up or work

I downloaded that latest crunchband and checked it's sum.  Now both cards are working fine. Thanks

Re: ath9 does not show up or work

The "latest crunchband" is the one you were using. Presumably you have now installed BunsenLabs?

?????
I though bunsenlabs was the website and crunchbang was the distro. Could you elaborate?

Have a look at the homepage of the website

Re: ath9 does not show up or work

Oh. The crunchbang domain is down, I had a crunchbang iso (downloaded within the last 6 months, I think), and that's what I had trouble with. Unless you can point out another place to get crunchbang I can't continue this bug question except by saying that Bunsen works (unless you've another idea).
Thanks anyway for the help.

Re: ath9 does not show up or work

Well you can install CB, with only what is available in the iso, but you can't update/upgrade the crunchbang packages. But why would you want to use CB, when BL has fixed many of the CB bugs, and has various other improvements?

I reckon you didn't try this  webpage (the bunsenlabs download page)  https://www.bunsenlabs.org/installation … key-method
Downloading via torrent is usually quite fast.
