I found one of Mint's that's at 699 MB...
https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=67
I have an ISO that is 701.5 MB which should also be under the 737-something-ish MB limit for CD-RW. Am I right? These discs are easy to find, we don't have to get this ISO under 650 MB, do we?
I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

MOST CD-R's in the US these days are of the 700 MB variety. Unless you are shopping online for bargain basement cost CD-R's, 700 MB should be good. It's been ages since I even bought a stack but then I found out my truck had a 6 cd changer in it so I've been busy burning CD's to play in it.

I don't think I've seen a 650MB CD-R in forever. 700MB seems to be de-facto these days.

Invoking Devil's Advocate: If it's possible to make the CD sized ISO fully Orange Book compliant (which specifies the old 650MB limit) without sacrificing functionality, I think this should be a goal. It's possible (though unlikely) that there are potatoes that will boot Hydrogen but can't read a 700MB CD-R.

@hhh: Wrong rainbow books.
As for "potatoes", you can blame Mane6 for my awareness of this use of the term; in one of their live development streams, one of them mentioned "some people are playing Skullgirls on actual potatoes." Frankly, I think it's a cute way of saying your hardware is "barely up to task".
