I have a list of bookmarks that I maintain in Geany rather than in a browser. Once in a while, I'd like to clean out duplicates. To do that, I'd use sort in a terminal.
But then I came across this Crunchbang forum thread by KrunchTime:
Had a list of text today that I wanted to sort in Geany, but I didn't see anything in the menu that would allow me to perform a sort. So I searched the net and found a solution.
01) From the menu bar, select Edit - Format - Send Selection to - Set Custom Commands.
02) Click the Add button in the Set Custom Commands window.
03) Enter sort in the command field and then click the OK button.
04) Select the text that you want to sort.
05) Right-click on the selected text and select Format - Send Selection to - sort to sort the selected text.
