Attack on servers hosting antiX

Someone on the antiX forums has reported that there have been a couple of attacks on two servers affecting their distro;

https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic … ost-216720

Everything seems OK at the moment due to some prompt action by the owner of the primary antiX server, but is there a possibility of a similar attack on the server hosting Bunsen?

There's always a possibility, and @johnraff just got back from being out of town so he might not have a chance to look at things for a day or two. Thanks for reporting this.

Re: Attack on servers hosting antiX

Things like this are going to be more and more common now that any street corner hacker can crank up an AI agent to launch high level attacks via vulnerabilities that nobody knew about till a week ago...

Anyway, the php vulnerabilty mentioned was patched in our BunsenLabs server 12 days ago:
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=10081

I don't know what the "direct attack at one of the major Internet protocols" refers to though.

The bad news, though is that our website, downloads and forums are all on the same server, so if that goes, it all goes. The source code repos on GitHub will remain - if a hacker brings that down we're in serious trouble indeed.
