Can anyone help me reinstall the script for taking screenshots using the Print Screen key?
I must have accidentally disabled it ![]()

If you're using X11 then check ~/.xbindkeysrc, if using the Wayland plugin then check ~/.config/bunsen/labwc/rc.xml
Either way, the PrintScreen key should be tied to 'xfce4-screenshooter'.
Check that command in a terminal - if you get errors that might be a hint.

Hi... When I type “xfce4-screenshooter” in the terminal, the application opens correctly.
/.xbindkeysrc Here's what I have here:
# For the benefit of emacs users: -*- shell-script -*-
###########################
# xbindkeys configuration #
###########################
#
# Version: 1.8.6
#
# This file is adapted for BunsenLabs Linux.
#
# NOTE: There is a gui available for editing keybinds - 'xbindkeys-config'.
# However we don't recommend its installation and use because it has some bugs.
# The format of a command line is:
# "command to start"
# associated key
#
# To identify a key, you can run 'xbindkeys --key' or
# 'xbindkeys --multikey' in a terminal
# and put one of the two output lines in this file.
# List of modifiers:
# Release, Control, Shift, Mod1 (Alt), Mod2 (NumLock),
# Mod3 (CapsLock), Mod4, Mod5 (Scroll).
#
# Mod4 is also known as the Super or Windows key.
#
# The release modifier is not a standard X modifier, but you can
# use it if you want to catch release events instead of press events.
#
# By default, xbindkeys does not pay attention to the modifiers
# NumLock, CapsLock and ScrollLock.
# Uncomment the lines below if you want to pay attention to them.
#
#keystate_numlock = enable
#keystate_capslock = enable
#keystate_scrolllock= enable
# NOTE xbindkeys reloads its configuration file each time it has changed.
# If you want to force it to reload its configuration file,
# you can send a HUP signal:
#
# killall -HUP xbindkeys
#
# Or if that's not enough, a full restart:
#
# pkill -x xbindkeys
# xbindkeys_autostart
#
# (Sometimes this is needed.)
# When a HUP signal is sent to xbindkeys,
# changes in $HOME/.xbindkeysrc take effect only after moving the mouse.
# See 'man xbindkeys' for more information.

Do any of those bindings work?
You may have removed xbindkeys from the start-up file.
If those bindings are not working, start xbindkeys from a terminal and try them again.
You must unlearn what you have learned.

What kind of keyboard?
Did you do any re-mapping of the keys?

Yeah, none of the shortcuts work for me, not even the Shift key... I think I accidentally deleted the file ![]()

Do they work if you start xbindkeys in a terminal?
May just need to add that back to the startup file.

Well, it says the file isn't there.

So xbindkeys isn't there?
Install it with apt and you should be good.

exe@bunsen:~$ xbindkeys
Error : /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc not found or reading not allowed.
please, create one with 'xbindkeys --defaults > /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc'.
or, if you want scheme configuration style,
with 'xbindkeys --defaults-guile > /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc.scm'.
What can I do?

Us that .xbindkeysrc file you posted above. It looks like it's located on /
Open it in a text editor and save it to /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc

I've already done that, but I haven't gotten any results.

Does the .xbindkeys need to be marked to execute as a program? Never used this before so guessing a bit.
If so - chown +x /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc

Error : /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc not found or reading not allowed.Looks like that file could be corrupted.
The default .xbindkeysrc is located in /usr/share/bunsen/skel
Delete the current /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc file
Open the /usr/share/bunsen/skel/.xbindkeysrc file in a text editor and save it to /home/exe/.xbindkeysrc. This will guarantee you own the file and have the proper permissions.
Reboot. Doing a full reboot will clear xbindkeys from memory. It will load clean when you log in.

Possibly. But he definitely needs to have read permissions; preferably own the file as well.

Well, it looks like it's finally been fixed—the shortcuts, Print, and the Super key are working again...
I copied these two files to my home directory:
.xbindkeysrc
.xbindkeys
Then I restarted, and that's it!
Thank you so much for your help!!!!!!!!!

There should be no file named .xbindkeys in /usr/share/bunsen/skel, only .xbindkeysrc
I just checked my own installation to confirm this.
