problem installing java openJDK

I am trying to install the java openjdk, but I'm having a problem.

I found the following command only: apt-get install openjdk-11-jdk

When I run that commmand, I get:

   Reading package lists... Done
   Building dependency tree... Done
   Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package openjdk-11-jdk

Can someone point me to instructions to get openjdk installed on
the Debian 12, bookworm release?

It has been a while since I have used apt-get, so I have a 2nd question.
How can I run apt-get to get a list of packages that are available?

Re: problem installing java openJDK

apt-cache for searching packages

apt-cache search openjdk

Then install the one you want with apt.

"man apt-cache" for all the possibilities.

You must unlearn what you have learned.
