Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

I’ve been using Omarchy Linux as my daily driver for three days now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

Coming into it, I was looking for a system that balanced performance with usability, and Omarchy completely delivered. The setup process was surprisingly smooth, and the overall ease of use is fantastic—everything feels intuitive, responsive, and ready to go right out of the box without requiring hours of tedious tweaking.

The real highlight for me has to be the Hyprland Window Manager integration. The animations are silky smooth, window tiling feels effortless, and the entire desktop environment looks clean and modern. Hyprland brings a dynamic, fluid feel to navigation that makes multitasking a genuine joy.

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

^I could move all the other gimp discussion posts from here to that new thread to keep this one clean, but because the forum puts things in time order they'll come before @Sector11's starting post. Is that OK?

EDIT on second thoughts, I'll just move them all over, make @Sector11's first mention of gimp the starting one, and copy/paste any additional info needed there so it makes sense.

When it's all done and settled I'll delete this post too.

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

I've been trying out RMag Exton, based on Mageia 10, this weekend.

On the whole it was fine; the one problem I had with it though was that when I tried to play my video test file through Parole, the display broke up badly and eventually stopped (although the sound continued). So unfortunately I can't give it an unqualified recommendation at this point.

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

So I never felt right about posting my own projects other than apps on the BL forum, but I did recently make it to Distrowatch so I hope y'all will forgive me for posting this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vuu-do/

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

Thanks guys!!
It's not a real distro like BL, just a hobbyist project i've been working on for a long time, like BL born of a desire to pick up the #! torch and run with it to see what's possible.

I am so tempted to USB that and give it a run.
Bootable UBB?

Oh yeah, but a caveat is that it's MBR only, no uefi. It's mainly for older machines.

Nice little distro-let @greenjeans. I remember sleekmason's mini-distro called LiliDog and that was a cool one too.
