Just a suggestion, with the upcoming release and the arrival of possible new users, the forum is a bit daunting IMO.
- Getting Started and Tutorials could be merged?
- Multimedia & Games is hardly used
- System Admin seems redundant now everyone has access to Dev Discussions? Last post in Sys Admin was in August
- Help & Support for Waldorf surely no longer relevant?
- ArchLabs & Friends was never really used
- Do we really need to see Topics Going Nowhere?
Obviously there are some good threads here that we don't want to lose. I don't know if the forum software allows for hiding sections? Or just move some of the lesser used sections to the bottom?
I appreciate that this is not really a priority right now, but just wanted to put it out there.

We've actually discussed this, slightly, and plan a cleanup after the official Carbon release...

Thanks for the list! ![]()

@Jimbo thanks, those look like good suggestions.

Bumping this for discussion...
We blew ArchLabs into tiny space-particles. There was much death and fire and gnashing of teeth, just the way Döbbie03 wanted it. Rock on. Now rock off. An ex-rock, space dust. Bereft of life, it floats in limbo through the cosmos...

I took Waldorf out sailing and, oops, poor ol' guy slipped overboard and drowned...

So some casualties, but there's a lot of forum left. First up, appropriately enough, is Getting Started...

It's a short list of important threads, it just needs to be checked and updated. Agreed?

Having both 'Development and Suggestions' and 'Dev Discussions' is confusing, especially since the threads in each belong in the other forum. The Wayland plugin for Carbon is Development, this thread is a discussion. Cue vincent_vega.gif

^You have a point there. The reason there are two threads is historical: "Dev Discussions" was previously in the private devs-only zone, but we decided there was no reason for most of the topics not to be discussed in public.
Development and Suggestions has been a place for devs to talk to the general user base about, as the index says "The road ahead for BunsenLabs", while Dev Discussions remains "Techy discussions mostly for developers, though other members are welcome to contribute".
But the difference between the two is not so big, and there is some overlap. I put the The "Wayland plugin for Carbon" discussion in Dev Discussions because I thought it wasn't quite ready for general release, and needed some technical tweaking. (It's very nearly ready for a more public announcement now - just needs a few package upgrades.)
So we could merge them, sure.

Yes indeed. If someone could clone (not just edit in place) "Basic Introduction to jgmenu on BL Boron", "Sources - Boron sources.list and backports details" and especially "Introduction to the Bunsenlabs Boron Desktop" and edit them to apply to Carbon that would be great!
One nasty sticking point, though, is whether we go on using imgur or not, since it's no longer available in the UK.
In any case, redoing all the screenshots is no trivial task...

Ok, in a couple of days I'll merge this thread into Development & Suggestions, leave an announcement post in this one, and you can delete this sDev Discussions a couple of days after that.
If I leave "Moved to..." links, they'll just be deleted when you nuke this subforum? If so, perfect.
