Re: Bluetooth earbuds connect and then almost immediately disconnect- Solv

Hey bushy3 - great to see ya.  Is this issue resolved?

I can certainly empathize with this, as I had a similar issue with some bluetooth earbuds, and it came down to swapping the external USB bluetooth adapter.
Different adapter chipsets (internal or external) employ different versions of the bluetooth protocol.  Some work - some may not.
More info on that can be found here.
Looks like you're using blueZ, so that's good on the Linux side.
Is this an internal or external adapter?  If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say we're dealing with a  converted Intel-based HP box?
For me (and this Acer laptop), I tried the 'remove/rediscover' trick, yet to no avail.
So then I tried a couple different USB bluetooth adapters - and my current adapter resolved the 'connect then immediately disconnect' issue.
The lesson I learned was that older bluetooth adapters may not place nice with newer devices.
Best of luck of course, hope you get this resolved (if it isn't already.)
