SOLVED tint2 behaviour on xfce4-panel? (multi-monitor panel bars)

My daily-driver machine is my ThinkPad connected to a larger monitor.

Back in Boron and Tint2, any programs moved to a different monitor showed the panel icon on that monitor automatically.

Here on Carbon, with the xfce4-panel, any bar showing the open applications puts them all in that bar.

I can make another bar, but it's going to show all the same open applications, not just the ones on that screen.

(It also gets complicated when I unplug the secondary monitor to take the laptop on the go, I probably don't want multiple taskbars complicating things.)

But maybe there's a xfce4-panel hack or script that offers what I'm looking for, just not out of the box?

This isn't an enormous deal, just one of those little things I liked from Boron that I'm trying to replicate.

Re: SOLVED tint2 behaviour on xfce4-panel? (multi-monitor panel bars)

^Having all the open app icons together, regardless of workspace,  is one of the annoyances I found with the shift from tint2 to xfce4-panel.
I haven't yet found a work-around but would be happy to know of one...

I guess going back to tint2 is still an option for people who don't want/need any of the other features of xfce4-panel. It's still in the Debian repos, including Forky and Sid.

Well for pete's sake. That's what I get for not digging deeper in the options.

Thank you!
