Re: 2026 Screenshot Thread

Yaru icon folders are gorgeous, but the rest of it sucks. Look at that system monitor panel icon, awful. Papirus with papirus-folders and Papirus-Nord...

@loutch, that's some serious conky-fu, @Sector11 would be proud.

@darknet, interesting! Panel and icons, music player and widget?

Two xfce4 scrots in a row, nice.

Xfce-panel, Vivid-dark-icons, music player is strawberry and the weather-widget.

^ Thanks! GNOME 48 on trixie with a bunch of stuff open...

Screenshot-From-2026-08-22-12-23-10.png

gnome-system-monitor, xfce4-terminal, nautilus, gimp (so cute!), inkscape (what the... an oil slick from a Nintendo game?), libreoffice-writer, helvum (a pipewire gui patchbay), ardour (2 windows, 2 boring icons), gnome-settings, gparted (I love this icon, it makes little sense but it works), gnome-shell-extension-manager (because GNOME is a puzzle), celluloid (gui front end for mpv), loupe (Wayland image viewer), gedit, transmission-gtk, gnome-tweaks, gnome document viewer (papers? I don't know what it's called), gcolor3.

Same old jazz.

I installed Omarchy yesterday, considering spending sometime over there for a while.

@hhh - Might have to take another look at gnome.

Going with a grayscale look for sway; conky for system info. Building a Void gnome iso -

Never, it just really excited me watching DHH's enthusiasm for Linux and I wanted to check it out.

ohh, my plasma isn't minimal at all. it's pretty default setup with a light theme right now. I don't have the strength to tinker with the system no more. I want to install a system, make a few changes in the configs to fit my workflow and that's it. Although sometimes i get itchy and play around in my test machine. Last weekend, for example, i set up a debian net install with with JustAGuyLinux's dm-setup on top of it and I must say it was a very good experience.

I've seen some yt videos about omarchy and last release. It looks pretty slick. I love the implementation of quickshell and its versatility. It has some very nice 'eye candy' too.

I will say it is incredibly well put together. I see why people use it. I'm still stuck in that rut of "I do it myself or it's not a real Linux install" so I don't actually see myself using it beyond just fiddling, but it is a very nice system.

I would like to see Omarchy evolve beyond an Arch base and evolve into something of its own.
